Writer Oqiljon Husanov's creative work began during his student years, and to this day, many of his poetry and prose works, novellas, and novels have been published. The writer was awarded the title «Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Uzbekistan» in 1982.

Biography

Writer Oqiljon Husanov was born in April 1932 in the village of Ravotlik in Jizzax District, into a farming family. After finishing secondary school (1940-1949), he studied at Samarkand State University (1949-1954). Afterwards, he worked at the Samarkand regional newspaper, rising from the position of proofreader to executive secretary.

In 1960, he came to Tashkent and worked at «Mushtum» magazine as a literary staff member, department head, and executive secretary. In 1967, he moved to «Sharq yulduzi» magazine, where he served first as a department head and then as an executive secretary until 1979.

From 1980 to 1992, he worked in various positions at «Guliston» magazine, rising to the level of deputy editor-in-chief.

Activity

Among the writer's works are books such as «Qo‘shiqchining taqdiri» (1963), «Samarqand bulbuli», «Mehri daryolar» (1971), «Bo‘lmaganga bo‘lishma» (1973), «Qashqar go‘zali» (1976), «Tog‘da o‘sgan bola» (1975), «Bulbulning go‘shti» (1977), «Tog‘da o‘sgan bola yoxud jiyanning yangi sarguzashtlari» (1980), «Sirli odam» (1980), «Taqilmagan uzuk» (1983), «Baxt qayerda» (1987), «Qishloqqa sayohat» (1988), «Ucholsa ham ucholmagan turna» (1990), «Ustaning muhabbati» (1991), and works such as «Go‘ro‘g‘li qissasi». In these works, the writer tells stories of pure and innocent childhood memories, the resolved or unresolved dreams and aspirations of the youth, and adventures of love.

Oqiljon Husanov passed away in 2001.
